Top 10 Companies Hiring This Week (December 02-December 08)

Hopefully you’re Thanksgiving went well and your jeans still fit. Or at least they last until January, when you make a resolution to lose weight and hit the gym more.

In the meantime, while everyone’s spending their time cybershopping for the perfect toaster for Grandma, you can continue your job hunt. Many job seekers have put their searches on hold during the holiday season, but they’re missing out. Companies are still in need of workers and plenty aren’t going to wait until January 2 to start hiring again. They need workers right now.

So here are 10 companies that are hiring workers this week:

1. Chipotle

Chipotle, named after a smoked jalapeno pepper, was founded in 1993 by CEO and professional chef Steve Ells.

"When I created Chipotle in 1993, I had a very simple idea: Offer a simple menu of great food prepared fresh each day, using many of the same cooking techniques as gourmet restaurants. Then serve the food quickly, in a cool atmosphere. It was food that I wanted, and thought others would like too. We've never strayed from that original idea. The critics raved and customers began lining up at my tiny burrito joint. Since then, we've opened a few more."

According to Shawn Achor, Harvard researcher and author of The Happiness Advantage, optimistic sales people outperform their pessimistic counterparts by up to 37%. Here’s a look at what they’re doing.

2. American Express

According to happiness expert Shawn Achor, MIT researchers studied thousands of IBM employees for a year and found the more social they were the better they performed.
